Oilers Shut Out Walsh 2-0 at Home
Box Score Findlay, Ohio – The University of Findlay women's soccer team earned a 2-0 shutout victory over the Walsh Cavaliers on Thursday, October 2, at DeHaven Field. The win moves the Oilers to 4-2-3 on the season and 3-1-1 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play. Walsh moves to 3-2-3 overall, and 2-1-2 in G-MAC play.
After a scoreless first half, the Oilers broke through in the 57th minute when sophomore Avary Zeisloft found the net off a setup from senior Ava Ayers. Just over 10 minutes later, senior Raegan Smith converted a penalty kick, doubling the Oiler advantage.
Findlay controlled the pace from start to finish, outshooting Walsh 28-10 and holding a 12-1 edge in corner kicks.
Senior Sydney Noble was a constant attacking presence, leading the team with nine shots and putting four on goal. Senior Payton Miller also made her impact felt in the midfield with six shots, including two on target.
In goal, senior Cat Graves anchored the defense with six saves to secure her second shutout of the season. Defenders junior Ashlyn Brown, senior Jenna Rybicki, and senior Kaylynn Simon all played the full 90 minutes, keeping the Cavaliers from generating sustained offensive pressure.
The Oilers will return to action and continue G-MAC play on Saturday, October 4, when they travel to Tiffin for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff.

Traveling back to Paradiso Fields for the first time since clinching the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) tournament championship last fall, the Oilers would fall to the Dragons by a score of 3-0. With the loss, Findlay falls to 4-4-1 overall and 3-2-1 in conference play. Meanwhile, Tiffin sees their record move to 5-2-1 overall and 4-1-0 in conference.
