Men's Soccer Breezes by Walsh | Win 2-0

Findlay, Ohio -  The University of Findlay men's soccer team was back in action on Thursday, Oct. 2 for a Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) matchup with Walsh University.  Benefiting from a hot start offensively, the Oilers would cruise to a 2-0 victory.  With the win, Findlay moves to 4-3-1 overall and 3-1-1 in conference play.  For the Cavaliers, they see their record drop to 2-6-1 overall and 1-3-1 in conference.

The Oilers came out firing, as they would get on the board just six minutes into the contest.  Finding the back of the was Tom Middleham for his team leading fifth goal of the season.  Setting up the score was Carson Oberski, as the junior recorded his second assist of the season.

Findlay would not be satisfied with just one goal, as in the 21st minute Leo Egerer would also send one home on a great pass from Joey Chirco.  For Egerer, he now has three goals on the season.

Despite both teams recording double digit shot attempts, there would be no more scores for the remainder of the contest.  It would be scrappy throughout, as there were 19 fouls in the contest and three yellow cards handed out.  Two would be given to Walsh, while Findlay would walk away with one.

Keegan Grant was stellar in between the posts for the Oilers in this one, stopping all six shots on goal from the Cavaliers.  Grant's strong play earned him his second shutout of the campaign.

The Oilers will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 4 when they travel to Tiffin University to take on the Dragons.  Kick off will be at 1 pm.
