Oilers Finish Seventh at Tom Tontimonia Invitational

Westlake, Ohio - The University of Findlay men's golf team finished up play at the Tom Tontimonia Invitational hosted by Cleveland State on Tuesday, Oct. 7.  Being the only non-division one program in the field of 10 teams, the Oilers would finish in seventh place.  They would end the final round with a team score of 293 (+9), giving them a total score of 23 over.
 
The top finisher for Findlay would be Cahle Roth, who finished the tournament two over par and in a tie for 11th place.  After going three under in round one and even in round two, the sophomore would finish the tournament with a 76 (+5) in round three.
 
Closely following was Luke Metzger, who would finish play a three over 74 to bring his total for the tournament to four over.  The senior finished in a tie for 20th.
 
Having his best round of the week was senior Zach Miller.  He would record five birdies in round three and finish with a score of 73 (+2).  Miller would finish in a tie for 51st.
 
The best rounds of the day for the Oilers would come from Ross Dietz and individual Cody Widener.  Both Dietz and Widener would finish with an even par round of 71. 
 
Rounding out the Findlay lineup was Jack Gerker, who finished with a 75 (+4) to bring his total score to 15 over.


The Oilers will be back in action next Monday, Oct. 13 for the Doc Spragg Fall Invite at Findlay Country Club.  This will be a two day event with 36 holes being played on Monday and the final 18 being played on Tuesday.
