Findlay Women’s Tennis Earns Multiple Titles at WSU Doubles Tournament
Detroit, Mich. – The University of Findlay women's tennis team competed at the WSU Doubles Tournament on Saturday, October 25, at the Duchene Athletic Facility in Detroit. The event featured several regional programs, including host Wayne State, Tiffin, and Oakland, with strong doubles competition across multiple brackets.
The Oilers turned in an outstanding performance throughout the tournament, earning three bracket titles and advancing multiple teams deep into play.
Leading the way for Findlay was the duo of Valentina Salek and Ivanova Lucero, who claimed the East-Front Draw Championship after defeating fellow Oilers Polina Zaytseva and Maria Batinic in an all-Findlay final. Audrey Ouellet and Ivana Gombitova also impressed, capturing the West-Back Draw title with decisive victories over Tiffin and Wayne State.
Rounding out the success, Kyna Decruy and Amber Korey fought back after an early loss to sweep both the Northeast and Northwest Finals, closing the event with two straight-set wins. The Oilers' consistent play, teamwork, and depth were on full display, signaling a strong foundation as they continue preparation for the upcoming spring season.
