With the fall sports season past the midway mark, many University of Findlay teams are looking ahead to finish strong.

Findlay football creeped up in the national American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division II Coaches Poll again landing at No. 16. UF Athletics reports this is the highest ranking in program history with the team peaking at No. 18 in 2009. The team’s win over Hillsdale College Saturday, Oct. 11 moved it to the first 6-0 start since 1997.

Ashland University has been following UF up the chart all season and comes in at No. 22 this week. Findlay and Ashland are the only two G-MAC teams in the top 25 this season. Oilers and Eagles will square off in Ashland on Nov. 8.

But first, the 6-0 Oilers take on 0-6 Kentucky Wesleyan this Saturday, Oct. 18 at noon at Donnell Stadium.

The UF women’s volleyball team is looking for a little redemption this weekend as it heads to the Midwest Region Crossover tournament in Hammond, Indiana to play Northern Michigan and University of Indianapolis Friday, Oct. 17.

The 12-2 team dropped out of the top 25 in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA)/Taraflex national poll.

Next week, the University of Findlay women’s golf team will find out if it stays No. 1 in the nation when the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) announces the results of the poll Oct. 24.

The team most recently earned the top spot at its home golf tournament, the William Beall Fall Classic, hosted Oct. 6 and 7 at Findlay Country Club. The team wraps up the fall season Oct. 20 and 21 at Intercollegiate at Nemacolin, hosted in Farmington, Pennsylvania.

The men’s golf team also earned the top spot at its home tournament, Tuesday, Oct. 14, at the 2025 Doc Spragg Fall Invite at Findlay Country Club. This was its first win of this tournament since it began in 2018. The men also head to the Intercollegiate at Nemacolin Oct. 20 and 21.

Men’s and women’s soccer hosts Thomas More this Saturday, Oct. 18 at DeHaven Field for Senior Day. The women’s game begins at 1 p.m. with the men’s game starting at 4 p.m. The men’s record sits at 6-4-1 overall and 5-2-1 in the G-MAC. Women’s soccer is 7-3-3 overall and 6-2-1 in the G-MAC.

UF cross country teams competed most recently in the Lewis Crossover on Saturday, Oct. 11. The women’s team finished 18th and the men finished 19th. The G-MAC championship takes place Saturday, Oct. 25 in Midland.
