Women's Soccer Earns 1-0 Road Victory Over Malone

Box Score
Canton, Ohio – The University of Findlay women's soccer team picked up a 1-0 win Thursday, Oct. 16 in a night contest against Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) opponent, Malone University. With the win, the Oilers improve to 7-3-3 overall with a 6-2-1 mark in the conference. Meanwhile, the Pioneers fall to 4-6-2 on the year and 3-5-1 in the league.

The Oilers controlled possession from the opening whistle and broke through early when senior forward Ava Ayers found the back of the net in the 15th minute. Ayers' goal, her fourth of the season, came off a well-executed play set up by seniors Kaylynn Simon and Sydney Noble, who each earned assists on the score.

Findlay's dominance was evident throughout the match as they out shot the Pioneers 25–4, including an 8–2 advantage in shots on goal. The Oilers also held an 8–0 edge in corner kicks, keeping pressure on the Malone defense for the full 90 minutes.

Senior Goalkeeper Cat Graves earned the clean sheet, making two saves in 90 minutes of action.

The Oilers return to action on Saturday, Oct. 18 as they host Thomas More University at 1:00 p.m. at DeHaven Field for senior day.
