The University of Findlay announces a new engineering pathway program for students in collaboration with Ohio Northern University and Wright State University.

The new 2+2 engineering pathway program is designed for students to enroll at the University of Findlay for two years with the intention of transferring to either Ohio Northern University or Wright State University to complete their engineering degree.

University of Findlay students can choose their pathway to a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering from Ohio Northern University or a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Wright State University.

“We are always looking for innovative ways to offer students who are interested in the University of Findlay with exceptional access to academics and our new 2+2 engineering pathway provides more options for those interested in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields,” commented vice president of enrollment and marketing, Nikki Hintze.

Eligible students enter their first semester at University of Findlay as a chemistry or mathematics-applied emphasis for engineering science major and simultaneously apply for entry to the 2+2 engineering transfer pathway they choose.

“When our students express interest in engineering, this new pathway provides them with greater access to faculty, facilities, and learning experiences, and they will benefit from the ease of transferability and the advantages both institutions offer,” shared Lok Lew Yan Voon, dean of the College of Sciences.

Accepted University of Findlay students will be provided with a specialized degree plan to follow with advisors at both institutions and concurrent enrollment before transferring to their selected degree-granting institution and program for completion.  The Ohio Northern University pathway allows students to take one class each of their first two years at ONU while also attending Findlay to facilitate a smooth transfer. Wright State University offers additional engineering opportunities at the Master’s and doctoral levels for students to consider as well.
