University of Findlay celebrated #GivingTuesday on November 28 with the help of more than 500 donors. Setting another record, 515 donors gave $187,871 to support the UF mission of preparing students for meaningful lives and productive careers.
Held the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, #GivingTuesday is celebrated as an international day of giving, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world.
UF focused on support of the student experience, and received gifts for more than 22 funds, including athletic teams, the Oilers Club (athletic boosters), and the Findlay Fund (supporting the University’s general fund).
Among the top totals, men’s basketball received gifts totaling $10,682; women’s tennis received $10,920; men’s baseball, $9,448; and the Findlay Fund, $20,454, according to Madelynn Greenslade ‘21, UF director of annual giving.
More than 700 Oiler student-athletes currently compete in 22 varsity sports. Last year, eight programs won conference championships and athletes earned more than 100 G-MAC conference honors.
“The UF community prides itself on taking care of one another, and giving back is at the heart of our values,” Greenslade noted. “This incredible tradition of generosity helps us create bright futures to benefit the next generation of Oilers.”
“Thank you to all the alumni, friends, parents, faculty, and staff for participating in this day and making a difference in the lives of so many UF students.”
