University of Findlay celebrates alumnus Kaleb Jai Harrison Brown for being named to the 20 Under 40 Toledo list, recognizing his outstanding leadership, dedication to health equity, and community impact.
Brown, who earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from University of Findlay, serves as the Community Impact Manager at United Way of Hancock County and an Adjunct Professor in the Master’s Health Informatics Program at the University. Through these roles, Brown addresses critical community challenges while inspiring the next generation of leaders.
At United Way, Brown has driven transformative initiatives, including securing $2 million in funding to support local agencies combating food insecurity and advancing health and education programs. His leadership has created meaningful, lasting change in the Hancock County community.
A passionate advocate for service, Brown’s impact extends beyond Ohio. He has participated in five international service programs and will lead University of Findlay students on a service trip to India this fall. His global perspective is informed by experiences as a Peace Corps volunteer in Ghana, an English teacher in Beijing, and a public health administrator during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Locally, Brown is a committed community leader, serving on numerous boards and committees, such as the University of Findlay Health Informatics Advisory Board, the Hancock County Cultural Humility and Health Equity Delegation, and the City of Findlay Immigration Task Force. His contributions span efforts to combat addiction, promote affordable housing, and enhance preventive health initiatives.
Beyond his professional achievements, Brown is an Eagle Scout, 2nd Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo, and an active mentor through the 100 Black Men of Indianapolis. His passion for lifelong learning and service reflects the University’s core values.
