Established in 2024, the Oiler Choice Awards are designed to recognize the outstanding achievements of student-athletes in front of their peers.
- #16 Oilers Shutout Panthers | Improve to 7-0Findlay, Ohio – It took a half to get things rolling, but on Saturday, Oct. 18, the University of Findlay football team, ranked No. 16 in the country, did what it was supposed to do, earning a dominating 28-0 victory over the Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers in Donnell Stadium. The win keeps the Oilers unbeaten at 7-0 (5-0 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC)) while KWC remains in search of its' first victory, heading back to Owensboro, Ky. with an 0-7 (0-5 G-MAC) record. Findlay improves its' record to 9-0 against the Panthers, all-time.
- Late Goals Lift Oilers Over Thomas More | Win 2-0Findlay, Ohio - The University of Findlay women's soccer team secured a dominant 2-0 victory over Thomas More on Saturday, October 18 at DeHaven Field on senior day. The win moves the Oilers to 8-3-3 overall and 7-2-1 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play, while the Saints fall to 6-7-1 (5-4-1 G-MAC).
- Volleyball Wins Two at Midwest Region CrossoverHammond, Ind.- For the first time in nearly a decade, the University of Findlay volleyball team went a perfect 2-0 to kick off the 17th Annual Midwest Region Volleyball Crossover. The two day event, which features 38 teams from the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Conference (GLIAC), and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC), got underway Friday, Oct. 17. Findlay opened the day against the Northern Michigan Wildcats before closing it out with a matchup against the Indianapolis Greyhounds. With the wins, the Oilers improve to 14-2 on the year.
- Swimming Opens Up Season with Dual Victories vs. AshlandFindlay, Ohio – The University of Findlay swimming and diving teams delivered a commanding performance in their dual meet against Ashland University on Friday evening at Sink Natatorium. The Oilers, opening up their season, won on both the men's and women's side with the men winning by a score of 206-56 and the women winning 191-70.5.

- Wrestling Picked Third in G-MAC Preseason PollFindlay, Ohio - The University of Findlay wrestling team has been selected third in the 2025 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Preseason Coaches Poll, which was released on Wednesday, October 15. Findlay received 34 points in the voting, trailing just Tiffin and Ashland in the poll.
- Findlay to Host Toledo in Exhibition ContestFindlay, Ohio- The University of Findlay men's basketball team will host the University of Toledo Rockets on Sunday, Oct. 19 for their annual Charity Exhibition game. The game, which will be a fundraising event for Findlay's Hope House, is scheduled to start at 3pm.
- Men's Soccer Wins 2-1 at MaloneCanton, Ohio- The University of Findlay men's soccer team picked up a 2-1 win Tuesday, Oct. 14 in a night contest against Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) opponent, Malone University. With their second consecutive win, the Oilers improve to 6-4-1 overall with a 5-2-1 mark in the conference. Meanwhile, the Pioneers fall to 1-9-2 on the year and 1-6-2 in the league.
