Oilers Fall 2-0 at Lake Erie
Painesville, Ohio – The University of Findlay women's soccer team came up short on the road Saturday October 11, falling 2-0 to Lake Erie College at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium.
The Oilers controlled much of the match statistically, outshooting the Storm 15–7 and generating five shots on goal, but couldn't break through against Lake Erie goalkeeper, who finished with five saves to secure the shutout.
Lake Erie opened the scoring in the 17th and extended their lead in the 77th minute, sealing the 2-0 result.
Senior goalkeeper Audrey Gibson-Zweifel made four saves in net for Findlay, while seniors Sydney Noble and Payton Miller each recorded multiple shots to lead the offensive effort.
With the loss, Findlay moves to 6-3-3 overall and 5-2-1 in G-MAC play, while Lake Erie remains unbeaten in conference action at 7-1-3 (4-0-3 G-MAC).
The Oilers return to action on October 16th, when they travel to Malone to play the Pioneers with a 6:30 p.m. kickoff.

On a perfect fall day with temperatures in the mid-70s, the Oilers claimed the team title after two playoff holes decided the winner. This is the first time that Findlay has won the Doc Spragg, an event that debuted in the fall of 2018.
