Determination and Fate: Findlay Faithfuls Hunter ’19 and Morgan (Hollabaugh ’18) Weis
Branden Ferguson Posted On February 12, 2024
When Hunter and Morgan started their journeys at the University of Findlay, they knew they wanted to get involved and meet new people. What they didn’t know was that they were going to meet their future spouse and start a family.
“We met in Sept. 2016 and became friends,” Morgan recalls. “Hunter showed interest right away, but I was not really looking for a relationship. Hunter was very persistent and after spending most of the day with him at Dance Marathon, I finally agreed on a date.” The two of them went to George House for coffee but ended up spending a few hours talking. By Dec., the two were officially dating.
Hunter focused on obtaining his degree in Middle Childhood Education, and Morgan pursued her Marketing degree. The two were inseparable as Morgan cheered Hunter on at baseball games and the two of them became involved in Dance Marathon. When the two had time alone, they shared their love for coffee. “We were frequently trying all the local coffee shops in Findlay,” said Morgan.
The two tied the knot Sept. 2021, solidifying their title of “Findlay Faithfuls.” “Fate is the first word that comes to mind when I think of our story,” Morgan said. “We both went to Findlay for a year before we finally met. Once we did meet, Hunter was determined to get me to go on a date with him. It’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made!”
Hunter and Morgan recently made the move to Pennsylvania and purchased a home. Hunter is teaching middle-school math at Blessed Francis Seelos Academy, and Morgan is an account executive for TFS, a material-handling fleet management company.
While the two of them love what they do, they now have a new love in their lives…their newborn daughter Elsie Ruth Weis. Hunter and Morgan are proud to be parents to a healthy 8lb 4oz baby girl. Excited for the years ahead, it was their past that brought them together. “Without the University of Findlay, we would not have met, and life would look a lot different for us,” said Morgan.
