University of Findlay Receives Approval for Associate Safety and Health Manager Program
Josh Eilola Posted On October 1, 2024
University of Findlay is proud to announce the approval of its application for the Associate Safety and Health Manager (ASHM) program by the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management (IHMM). This significant recognition applies to both the Bachelor of Science in Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability and the Master of Science in Environmental, Safety, and Health Management degree programs.
With this approval, students currently enrolled in these programs can now apply for the Student ASHM designation. Graduates from these approved programs will also have the opportunity to apply for the ASHM credential, enhancing their qualifications and career prospects in the field of environmental health and safety.
Students who achieve the Student ASHM designation will be eligible to apply for the IHMM scholarship program, providing further financial support for their education. Additionally, graduates can now apply for the ASHM credential without an exam requirement if they apply within six months of graduation, making it easier for them to enter the workforce with recognized qualifications.
The ASHM designation serves as a vital stepping stone toward obtaining the accredited Certified Safety and Health Manager (CSHM) certification. Notably, students with a Bachelor’s degree or higher from an approved institution will only need to demonstrate two years of experience to sit for the CSHM exam, instead of the standard four years.
