The University of Findlay’s “Together We Will” comprehensive campaign has raised more than $56.4 million in gifts and pledges—three-quarters of its $75 million goal.

UF President Katherine Fell, Ph.D., announced the achievement Feb. 9 at the UF Board of Trustees meeting, noting that gifts have come from 9,527 donors – individuals, corporations, and foundations – as of Jan. 31, 2024.

“Together We Will is the University’s most ambitious campaign in history, and we are proud to see how it already is enhancing academic programs, student scholarships, and campus facilities,” she explained. “This milestone represents a new level of confidence in the University, and the generosity of our donors is propelling UF into an even greater future.”

Kenneth McIntyre Jr., vice president of University advancement, told the board that two leading measures of the campaign’s progress have been $13.6 million provided for student scholarships and $13.8 million for annual operations through the Findlay Fund.

“The impact of Together We Will already can be felt by the students,” he said. “These gifts make higher education affordable to more students of all backgrounds and form them into future leaders for our community.”

Priorities for the Together We Will campaign are scholarships and financial aid; endowments for faculty and research; enhanced laboratories, environmental, and athletic facilities; and expanded student opportunities in campus ministries, study abroad, and service learning.

“Focusing resources on these priorities will greatly enhance ‘the Findlay experience’ for all our students along with the community,” McIntyre added.

The campaign has successfully secured several major gifts – most prominently, a $6 million gift from Billy ’96 and Brenda Watterson, which will support the building of the Watterson Center for Ethical Leadership that will house the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.

Gifts to the Findlay Fund support day-to-day operations, such as maintaining campus facilities, classroom technology and lab equipment; providing vital student services, including counseling, health care, internship and career placement; supporting research and clinical opportunities on campus and in the field, and more.

“Since publicly launching in October 2022, the campaign has enjoyed broad support from Oiler alumni, friends, parents, employees, and the community,” McIntyre noted. “We are grateful to these donors who are helping UF to develop graduates who serve and lead with purpose, passion, and skill.”

“As we reach this turning point, we encourage all UF alumni and friends to be part of the final phase with a transformative gift,” he continued. “Each gift, no matter the size, makes a difference for the next generation of Oilers. Your legacy will live on through the life-changing opportunities you provide to our students.”

The campaign is scheduled to end in summer 2026. Anyone interested in donating to the campaign may contact the University Advancement office at 419-434-4008 or visit give.findlay.edu for more information.
