University of Findlay Graduate Earns National Recognition for Innovative Transportation Research

A recent graduate of the University of Findlay’s Master of Science in Applied Security & Analytics, Yashwanth Reddy Bolla, has brought national acclaim to the University by earning second place at the National Professional STEM Master’s Association Conference in Philadelphia. Competing against nine students from institutions nationwide, Bolla delivered an outstanding five-minute presentation titled Potential Improvements to Public Transportation in Findlay.
The project, completed as part of his capstone research, analyzed local transportation challenges and proposed innovative solutions to enhance mobility within the community. Recognized for its practical impact and analytical rigor, the presentation resonated with judges and attendees alike.
Mary Jo Geise, Ph.D. Professor Emerita of Computer Science, shared, “We are incredibly proud of [Bolla]’s achievement. His commitment to excellence, combined with his technical skills and the soft skills developed through our program, exemplifies what the Master of Science in Applied Security & Analytics degree is all about—preparing future leaders for real-world challenges.”
As a testament to the success of his research, Bolla collaborated with United Way of Hancock County during his capstone project. Following graduation, he was hired part-time as a data analyst for United Way before securing a full-time position with the Ohio Food Bank in Columbus.
