University of Findlay junior accounting major Jenna Krakomperger’s achievement illuminates a path of empowerment and distinction within the grocery industry. Krakomperger became one of the first-ever Women Grocers of America Honorary Board Members.
Krakomperger’s unique involvement with the Women Grocers of America (WGA) truly sets her apart. WGA is an organization that empowers women within the independent grocery industry, nurturing their personal and professional development while celebrating their accomplishments. Krakomperger’s role as one of the first-ever WGA Honorary Board Members has created a bridge between her academic pursuits and her family’s deeply rooted involvement in the grocery sector. Krakomperger’s passion for the grocery industry has been cultivated through her family’s ownership of multiple independent grocery stores across Ohio. This background has not only shaped her career aspirations but also fueled her desire to make an impact within the industry.
Professor Eric Stoller, assistant professor of teaching in sports management and coordinator of business solution center at University of Findlay, recognized Krakomperger’s unique connection to the grocery business, and alerted her to the Student Honorary Board Member position within WGA. Krakomperger eagerly seized the opportunity, driven by her determination to expand her knowledge, strengthen her network, and learn from influential women leaders in the field.
As a Student Honorary Board Member of the WGA, Krakomperger is entrusted with a range of responsibilities that reflect her commitment to both academia and industry. These duties include collaborating with the board, actively participating in monthly meetings, compiling thorough meeting notes for the secretary, and engaging in volunteer initiatives such as contributing to the planning of the NGA show, educational seminars, Lunch & Learn webinars, and focus groups. This multifaceted role not only offers Krakomperger unique insights into the grocery industry’s inner workings but also provides her with a platform to share her opinions and contribute to the organization’s development.
Krakomperger’s journey at University of Findlay exemplifies the institution’s dedication to nurturing well-rounded, empowered individuals who transcend the boundaries of traditional academia. Through her involvement with the WGA and her unwavering determination to learn and grow within the grocery industry, Krakomperger stands as a shining testament to the University’s commitment to fostering excellence, leadership, and a passion for making meaningful contributions to the world.
