UF Brings Experience and Passion to Educational Administration Program

University of Findlay has named Kadee Anstadt, Ed.D. as the new program director of the Educational Administration Program within the College of Education. Anstadt has experience as a teacher (five years), assistant superintendent (14 years), and is coming from Washington Local Schools in Toledo, where she has served as the superintendent/CEO for the past four years.

“There is a huge educator shortage, not just for teachers, but also for principals, superintendents, and treasurers. We need someone to really encourage good teachers to go into those leadership roles at the building and district levels,” said Julie D. McIntosh, Ed.D., University of Findlay Dean of the College of Education. Anstadt will serve as an assistant professor in the College of Education, and as the program director for the educational administration program. McIntosh described Anstadt as the new face of the program, as she will not only educate current UF students but also work with surrounding educators in the field.

“In the state of Ohio, it was close to 60 superintendent positions that went unfilled because they couldn’t find candidates,” said McIntosh. “Having someone like Kadee, who has walked the walk and can encourage people to go into that role, will help K-12 schools across the area.”

Anstadt replaces Rahman “Buzz” Dyer, who started the principal and superintendent program when he came to the University in 1997. “Even after 27 years of service to the University and the College of Education, he was never afraid to ask someone if they wanted to be a principal. Everyone knows Buzz and they know that he cares about their future,” said McIntosh.

While new to the University of Findlay, Anstadt brings with her experience in all areas of the school system and the passion to continue to improve and inspire current teachers. Her leadership and passion led to her helping to start the NW Ohio Ladies in Leadership Consortium. “Dr. Kadee Anstadt’s unwavering dedication and passion in co-spearheading the Consortium is a testament to her remarkable leadership,” said Cari L. Buehler, superintendent of Danbury Local Schools. “With a heart ablaze with vision, she ignites paths for women to envision and pursue greater heights. A true servant leader, she selflessly invests in the growth and empowerment of others, leaving an indelible mark of inspiration on all fortunate enough to cross her path.”

McIntosh is excited for current students, as they will be learning from a driven professor like Anstadt, who is coming directly out of the field of teaching and education. McIntosh is also excited about the experience Anstadt brings with her. “Her having that superintendent experience is critical for this role. If you’re encouraging people to be a principal or superintendent, having someone that has great experience and who has been successful in those roles is very important.”

Anstadt will officially join the University of Findlay Aug. 1, but she is already excited to begin her new journey. “University of Findlay is highly regarded for the thorough preparation of future school and district leaders. It is such an honor to join this highly committed faculty in the important work of growing future principals, superintendents, and treasurers,” she said.
