Tickets are $8 for the general public and free for UF faculty, staff, and students with a valid University ID. Tickets are available at the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts box office at 200 W. Main Cross St., by visiting MCPA website, or by calling 419-423-2787.
Jean Genet’s “The Maids” is a haunting exploration of class and power. Two sisters, working as maids, take turns role-playing as their cruel, wealthy employer and fantasizing about taking revenge on her. Written in 1947, the play is loosely based on the infamous case of sisters Christine and Léa Papin, who brutally murdered their employer in Le Mans, France, in 1933.
Due to adult language and themes, this production is not recommended for children.
