The Class of 2024 includes a total of 902 students, earning 16 associate degrees, 432 bachelor’s degrees, 314 master’s degrees, and 152 doctoral degrees.
By college, there were 53 graduates from the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences; 145 from College of Business; 98 from College of Education; 305 from College of Health Professions; 54 from College of Pharmacy; and 246 from College of Sciences.
Ranging in age from 18 to 67, graduates came from 39 U.S. states and 24 countries.
Following the graduate commencement ceremony in the morning and undergraduate ceremony in the afternoon, graduates participated in UF’s long-standing tradition of marching back through the Griffith Memorial Arch.
Graduates and their families also were invited to attend celebratory receptions in the Alumni Memorial Union hosted by UF’s Wolfe Center for Alumni, Parents, and Friends.
Myron D. Lewis, MSW, MBA, FACHE, president and CEO of Blanchard Valley Health System, gave the commencement address at the graduate ceremony. Lewis is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He serves on the Hancock County Economic Development Advisory Board, Center for Civic Engagement Board, and is a Rotarian. He is on the boards of the Vantage Health Organization and the Hospital Council of Northwest Ohio.
Dr. Zachary Shutler ’22, superintendent of Union Local School District in Belmont County, Ohio, spoke at the afternoon undergraduate ceremony. He is a graduate of Mount Union University and Franciscan University of Steubenville, and earned his doctoral degree in educational leadership from UF. Shutler said his desire to serve as a positive influence and mentor of others led to his career in education, where he also has been a teacher, coach, principal, and professor. His leadership positions have afforded him the opportunity to build relationships, influence others, and share a collective purpose.
The Class of 2024 joins 26,984 living alumni of Findlay College and University of Findlay.
