University of Findlay Expands Partnership with Open Arms
Branden Ferguson Posted On February 8, 2024
As part of an ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive support services, University of Findlay has expanded its partnership with Open Arms Domestic Violence and Rape Crisis Services. On Feb. 6, University of Findlay welcomed two dedicated mobile advocates from Open Arms to assist UF students, faculty, and staff.
The partnership aims to provide valuable assistance and support to members of the UF campus community. Services offered by Open Arms include safety planning, resources and referrals, medical and legal advocacy and accompaniment, and assistance in accessing emergency shelters.
Dedicated mobile advocates will be on campus every Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. Information shared with an advocate will remain confidential and does not require a report to Equity & Title IX unless the individual requests the information to be shared.
“We believe that services like these are instrumental in fostering a safe and supportive environment on our campus,” said Skylar Mettert, MAE associate vice president for safety and wellness.
UF campus community members who are interested in talking with a mobile advocate can meet with them in Old Main 45 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during the allotted time. Individuals wishing to talk with a mobile advocate are encouraged to reach out to Equity & Title IX (419-434-5120) or Open Arms hotline (419-422-4766).
For more information regarding the partnership or for a list of additional services offered to University faculty, staff, and students, visit the Safety and Wellness website.
