Featuring experts with the Black Swamp Bird Observatory: Kimberly Kaufman, executive director, and Mark Shieldcastle, research director.Ohio is home base for the nation’s largest birding festival – the Biggest Week in American Birding, May 3-12, 2024, which is expected to draw more than 100,000 human visitors to watch as millions of beautiful birds migrate through Northwest Ohio.From tiny songbirds to majestic bald eagles, Ohio plays a vital role in the survival of hundreds of bird species and millions of migratory birds each year.

- 0:47Tour of Off Campus Training FacilitiesLocated in Findlay, Ohio, just off U.S. 12, Findlay students benefit from access to the nationally renowned All Hazards Training Center. Rail cars, multiple types of motor carriers, ditch/stream spill scenarios, buried drums, monitoring wells, inland water spill mitigation exercises, above ground tank leaks, pipe repair techniques, surface spills and more can be found onsite. In addition, it is home to the UF Environmental Outdoor Enclosure where students can work side by side with faculty on understanding atmospheric processes.
