#1 Oilers Lead After Day One at Beall Fall Classic

Findlay, Ohio – The University of Findlay women's golf team opened play at their lone home event of the season, hosting the Beall Fall Classic on Monday, October 6 at Findlay Country Club. The tournament field featured some of the region's strongest programs, highlighted by the recently top-ranked No. 1 Oilers and No. 7 Grand Valley State.

After two rounds of play, the Oilers sit atop the leaderboard at +19 following team rounds of 298 (+10) and 297 (+9). Grand Valley State trails by eight strokes in second at +27, while the University of Indianapolis rounds out the top three at +38.

Senior Ellie Yeazell paced Findlay with steady rounds of 72 (E) and 75 (+3), placing her second overall individually at +3. Close behind are junior Ashleigh Duflo and sophomore Gracie James, who each posted identical rounds of 74 (+2) and 74 (+2) to sit tied for third at +4.

Senior Hayley Dye put together a strong second round, improving by four strokes with a 74 (+2) after an opening 78 (+6). She currently holds a tie for ninth place. Freshman Emma Myers rounded out Findlay's team lineup, posting scores of 79 (+7) and 77 (+5) in her Beall Fall Classic debut.

Four Oilers are also competing as individuals: sophomore Avery Thompson (+10), sophomore Mia Ringger (+13), freshman Paige Weiss (+23), and junior Audrey Keplar (+24).

The final round of the Beall Fall Classic will tee off at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, October 7 at Findlay Country Club, as the Oilers look to defend their home course and secure another team title in front of their home fans.
