Women's Golf in Fifth After Day One at the Intercollegiate at Nemacolin

Farmington, Pa. – The University of Findlay women's golf team opened play as the host school at the Intercollegiate at Nemacolin, held at the scenic Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. The 54-hole event, played Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 20-21, is taking place on the Mystic Rock Golf Course, set at 6,100 yards for the women's field.

As daylight faded, teams were unable to complete all 36 holes on Monday, forcing play to be suspended early. The Oilers currently sit in fifth place, midway through the second round. Findlay carded an opening-round 320 (+32) and stands at +17 through 14 holes of round two.

Junior Ashleigh Duflo leads the team with a first-round 77 (+5) and is currently +4 through 14 holes in the second round, and +9 for the event. Sophomore Gracie James has been steady in round two, recording just two bogeys to sit at +2 through 14 holes, and +11 for the event.

Playing as an individual, sophomore Avery Thompson is in a tie for fourth place after rounds of 79 and 73 (through 14 holes).

*(R2 suspended due to darkness)

The Oilers will continue round two tomorrow, Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 9am, followed by the start of round three.
