Oilers Sweep Malone, Marking Fourth Straight Win in Straight Sets

Canton, Ohio- The University of Findlay volleyball team continued its dominant stretch, earning a fourth straight sweep, this time over the Malone Pioneers. The 3-0 (25-17, 25-22, 25-12) victory gives Findlay a 18-3 record on the season with a 9-1 record in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC). Meanwhile Malone falls to 6-15 on the season and a 5-5 mark in the G-MAC.

The teams battled back and forth early in the opening set, with neither side gaining more than a two-point edge. Holding a narrow 12-11 lead, Findlay erupted on an 8-2 run to go up 20-13 and carried that momentum to a 25-17 victory.

Findlay fell behind 5-1 early after three straight errors but quickly regrouped with a 7-1 surge to take a 10-9 lead. The Oilers then rattled off five more points to build a 16-12 advantage. Malone battled back late, but senior Makenna Belcher sealed the set, giving Findlay a 25-22 win and a 2-0 match lead.

The Oilers never trailed in the third set, jumping out to a quick 10-3 lead and cruising to a dominant 25-12 victory to secure the 3-0 sweep—their 19th straight win over the Pioneers.

Findlay dominated the stat sheet in the win, hitting .268 as a team while racking up 52 kills while holding Malone to just a .093 hitting percentage.

Belcher led the way for Findlay's offense with 13 kills while hitting an impressive .323. She also added six digs.

Sophomore Grace Auer continued her stellar play for the Oilers, finishing with 10 kills, one block, and a team-high 16 digs.

Senior Lauren Foerster and freshman Victoria Mescher each chipped in nine kills and three blocks apiece.

Senior setter Emma White once again directed Findlay's efficient offense, tallying 44 assists to go with three kills, a block, and 11 digs.

The Oilers will be back in action Saturday, Nov. 1 as they take on the Walsh Cavaliers in North Canton, Ohio at 12pm.
