Men's Soccer Wins 2-1 at Malone
Canton, Ohio- The University of Findlay men's soccer team picked up a 2-1 win Tuesday, Oct. 14 in a night contest against Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) opponent, Malone University. With their second consecutive win, the Oilers improve to 6-4-1 overall with a 5-2-1 mark in the conference. Meanwhile, the Pioneers fall to 1-9-2 on the year and 1-6-2 in the league.
The scoring opened in the 28th minute when senior Ryan Dickinson converted a penalty kick. Just three minutes later, junior Andre Sardinha extended the lead, finding the back of the net off a feed from freshman Garrett Nealis.
Findlay carried a two-goal advantage into the second half, with their only setback coming in the 76th minute as the Pioneers tallied just their sixth goal of the season. The Oilers held strong the rest of the way to secure the 2-1 victory.
The match was evenly played, with Findlay posting 11 shots, including five on target, while Malone tallied 13 shots with three on goal.
Dickinson's goal was his first of the season and just the third of his career. Meanwhile, Sardinha recorded his second of the year.
Senior Keegan Grant made two saves in 90 minutes of play.
Findlay will be back in action Saturday, Oct. 18 as they host Thomas More at DeHaven Field. That game will begin at 4pm.

The Oilers finished in a tie for third in the tournament with second and third round scores of 304 (+16) and 304 (+16), respectively, finishing with a three-round score of 928 (+64).

The Oilers finished runner-up in the tournament with second and third round scores of 297 (+9) and 295 (+7), respectively, finishing with a three-round score of 895 (+31). Grand Valley State, ranked No. 7 in the country in the latest national coaches poll and No. 1 in the Clippd national poll, took the tournament title for a second consecutive year with an 853 (-11).
- Men's Golf in a Tie for Fourth After Day 1 of Intercollegiate at NemacolinFarmington, PA. - The University of Findlay men's golf team returned to action on Monday, Oct. 20 for the first day of play in the Intercollegiate at Nemacolin hosted by Findlay. A planned 36 hole day was cut short due to darkness as the Oilers were only able to get in 30-32 holes before play was suspended. After 30 holes of action on day one, the Oilers find themselves tied for fourth place. A 303 (+15) in round one and a (+10) through 14 holes in round two places them at 25 over par.
- Women's Golf in Fifth After Day One at the Intercollegiate at NemacolinFarmington, Pa. – The University of Findlay women's golf team opened play as the host school at the Intercollegiate at Nemacolin, held at the scenic Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. The 54-hole event, played Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 20-21, is taking place on the Mystic Rock Golf Course, set at 6,100 yards for the women's field.
