Oilers Finish Seventh at Tom Tontimonia Invitational
Westlake, Ohio - The University of Findlay men's golf team finished up play at the Tom Tontimonia Invitational hosted by Cleveland State on Tuesday, Oct. 7. Being the only non-division one program in the field of 10 teams, the Oilers would finish in seventh place. They would end the final round with a team score of 293 (+9), giving them a total score of 23 over.
The top finisher for Findlay would be Cahle Roth, who finished the tournament two over par and in a tie for 11th place. After going three under in round one and even in round two, the sophomore would finish the tournament with a 76 (+5) in round three.
Closely following was Luke Metzger, who would finish play a three over 74 to bring his total for the tournament to four over. The senior finished in a tie for 20th.
Having his best round of the week was senior Zach Miller. He would record five birdies in round three and finish with a score of 73 (+2). Miller would finish in a tie for 51st.
The best rounds of the day for the Oilers would come from Ross Dietz and individual Cody Widener. Both Dietz and Widener would finish with an even par round of 71.
Rounding out the Findlay lineup was Jack Gerker, who finished with a 75 (+4) to bring his total score to 15 over.
The Oilers will be back in action next Monday, Oct. 13 for the Doc Spragg Fall Invite at Findlay Country Club. This will be a two day event with 36 holes being played on Monday and the final 18 being played on Tuesday.

With their second consecutive win, the Oilers improve to 6-4-1 overall with a 5-2-1 mark in the conference. Meanwhile, the Pioneers fall to 1-9-2 on the year and 1-6-2 in the league.
- Men's Golf Defends Home Turf, Winning in Playoff at the Doc Spragg Fall InviteFindlay, Ohio – On Tuesday, Oct. 14, the University of Findlay men's golf team delivered a clutch performance at the 2025 Doc Spragg Fall Invite, held at Findlay Country Club. On a perfect fall day with temperatures in the mid-70s, the Oilers claimed the team title after two playoff holes decided the winner. This is the first time that Findlay has won the Doc Spragg, an event that debuted in the fall of 2018.
- Ouellet Earns G-MAC Athlete of the WeekIndianapolis, Ind.- Senior Audrey Ouellet was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Athlete of the Week as released by the conference office on Tuesday, Oct. 14. The honor comes following her performance at the ITA Midwest Regional.
- Duflo Tabbed G-MAC Athlete of the WeekIndianapolis, Ind.- Junior Ashleigh Duflo was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Athlete of the Week as released by the conference office on Tuesday, Oct. 14. Duflo led the top-ranked Oilers to a win at the William Beall Fall Classic. The squad blew away the field, winning by fourteen shots over seventh-ranked Grand Valley State and 36shots ahead of #23 Missouri- St. Louis.
